Viking Era Blacksmith Knife

Service Description

You will create your own knife based on the weapons forged by the Vikings up to 900 AD. You will learn basic hammer techniques and ergonomics, using 6 to 7 of the common methods blacksmiths shape iron and steel to their will. You will have an introduction to the art of grinding the bevels and edge and learn how to seal the metal. We will cover the history of blacksmithing and basic metallurgy. This class does not require the Intro to Blacksmithing as a prerequisite. The class will be approx 6 hours with a sandwich lunch, snacks and soft drinks provided.
